Edinburgh painter of landscapes, architectural subjects and coastal scenes. Exhibited in London at the R.A. in 1871 and 1884 and at ARSA (Associate of the Royal Scottish Academy) in 1892.
The painting is behind glass and is in clean, undamaged condition and the frame and mount are in very good condition.

King, Henry John Yeend, 1855-1924. "Cattle in a meadow with a village church in the distance", watercolour signed bottom right. Visual image 22" x 14.1/4", frame size 29" x 21.3/4".
Yeend King was a London based landscape and rustic genre painter. He exhibited from 1874 to 1924 at The Royal Academy, The Society of British Artists, The New Watercolour society and elsewhere. Elected Member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1879 and to The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours where he became Vice-President.
Works by him are in The Tate Gallery, The Walker Gallery and Sheffield.

Rich, Alfred William. NEAC. 1856-1921.
Watercolour "On The Canal, Rickmansworth", signed bottom right and with artist's label verso. Overall size 26.1/2" wide x 22" high. Image size 15" wide x 10.1/2" high.

Painter of landscape watercolours, Rich studied at the Westminster School of Art and at the Slade School, being much influenced by Peter de Wint. He exhibited at the New English Art Club from 1896, and became a successful teacher in his own right, having his book "Watercolour Painting" published in 1918. He was born in Gravely, Sussex, and lived in London and Croydon, painting in many parts of Britain, but especially Sussex, and died whilst taking students on a sketching tour to Tewkesbury.

A watercolour titled "American 7 Masted Schooner" by Frank Henry Mason, RI. RBA 1876-1965, signed bottom right, the colours still fresh and unfaded with no foxing.
Mason, born in County Durham, was a marine painter and watercolourist, and also etched and illustrated. Exhibited at the RA, and in 1973 an exhibition of his work was held at the National Maritime Museum.
